To achieve this high temperature resistance, the epoxy resin must be post-cured for 1.5 hours at 60°C. Otherwise, the temperature resistance is approximately 90°C.

Please note, we are talking about temperature resistance here.

This means that the epoxy resin will not scorch or crack at this temperature. However, the epoxy resin may temporarily soften and dent due to its weight! This makes all types of epoxy less suitable for use as coasters.

For larger quantities, the processing time and curing time are shorter!

If you have little experience, we recommend not processing the maximum amount at once.

If you still wish to do this, work at 18°C with a large diameter mixing bucket and allow for a very short processing time!

For 10 kg, please pour a layer thickness of no more than 0.5 cm.
What is the Super Gloss starter set suitable for?
The set is suitable for high-gloss epoxy resin coatings , resin art and transparent topcoats on suitable, prepared surfaces.

Can I use this to cast a river table?
Super Gloss is suitable for a high-gloss finish on tabletops . For deep resin flow between pieces of wood, you will need a suitable casting resin such as Deep Casting. The maximum layer thickness of Super Gloss is 5 mm.

Can I color the epoxy resin?
Yes, with suitable epoxy resin paints and pigments . Observe the dosage instructions of the respective paint product.

When does the coating harden?
The curing time at 25 °C is approximately 10 hours. Complete curing is achieved after about 2 days. Temperature, batch size, and layer thickness affect these times.

Do I need any additional accessories?
You will need scales and, depending on the project, suitable application tools, protective coverings, and additional safety equipment as per the safety instructions. Larger batches require larger mixing containers.

Are colors or shapes included?
No. The starter set contains only resin, hardener, three mixing cups, three white stirring sticks and a pair of black gloves.
Ensure the surface is dense and non-porous. Porous surfaces can cause air bubbles in the epoxy. Apply a thin layer of epoxy or primer to achieve this. Always wear protective gloves and safety glasses when handling this material. Process the resin at room temperature (18–25°C) and a relative humidity of less than 70%. To prevent surface warping, the temperature must remain constant throughout the curing process. Also, avoid direct sunlight through a window and prevent drafts.

Mix components A and B in the correct ratio (A : B = 100 : 50 by weight) and mix thoroughly. Allow sufficient time for mixing (2-3 minutes) and ensure that the corners and bottom of the mixing bowl are included. Optionally, you can pour the mixture into a second bowl and mix again.

Now add all the color effects and stir again. Let any air bubbles escape for one minute. If necessary, help by vibrating/rattling the cup. Make sure the product doesn't get too hot!

The epoxy resin is now ready to use. Apply the mixture with a brush/roller or pour it in a thin stream into the desired mold or prepared model.

Note that for larger quantities, you should use a mixing bowl with a wide base. Avoid a thick layer of ingredients in the mixing bowl, as this will heat up very quickly!

Removing air bubbles works best with an epoxy deaerator or a flame. Please do not use a flame if you have thinned the epoxy resin with alcohol or other flammable products.

If you want to apply the resin in several layers (multi-layer work)

Wet on wet:

When pouring a second layer of liquid into a first layer of epoxy, you must ensure that the exothermic reaction has completely subsided. An exothermic reaction is one that releases energy, in this case, heat. To be certain, wait until the second layer is no longer tacky but you can still see a fingerprint in the epoxy.

The previous layer must be sanded and made free of dust and grease.
Causes skin irritation. May cause an allergic skin reaction. Causes serious eye irritation. May cause damage to organs through prolonged or repeated exposure. Toxic to aquatic life with long-lasting effects.
Keep out of reach of children. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing, eye protection, and face protection. Do not breathe dust/fume/gas/mist/vapors/spray. Avoid release to the environment. IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of soap and water. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Wash skin thoroughly after handling.

If you notice that the resin component is white and flaky, it is crystallized resin.

The crystallization of epoxy resin is a physical process triggered by external factors such as cold or temperature fluctuations. It is completely reversible and similar to the freezing of water. The main causes are:

1. Temperatures that are too low : Crystals can form during storage or transport at temperatures below 15 °C.

2. Temperature fluctuations : The formation of crystals is promoted by regular changes between warm and cold.
High resin purity: Epoxy resin with high purity is more prone to crystallization.
3. Low viscosity : Resins with a low viscosity tend to form crystals more readily.

This reaction occurs at extremely low temperatures and can be reversed by a water bath (approximately 60 minutes/50 °C).

Simply place the sealed resin container in a water bath. Then allow the resin to cool back down to normal room temperature.
