To achieve this high temperature resistance, the epoxy resin must be baked for 1.5 hours at 60°C. Otherwise, the temperature resistance is approx. 90°C.
Please note that we are talking about temperature resistance here.
This means that the epoxy will not scorch or crack at this temperature. However, the epoxy may temporarily soften and nick due to the weight! This makes all types of epoxy less suitable for use as coasters.
With a larger quantity, the processing time and the curing time are shorter!
If you have little experience, we recommend not processing the maximum amount at once.
If you still want to do this, work at 18°C with a large diameter mixing bucket and take into account a very short processing time!
For 10 kg please pour a layer thickness of maximum 0.5 cm.
Make sure the surface is dense and non-porous. This can cause air bubbles in the epoxy. To do this, use a thin layer of epoxy or primer. Always use protective gloves and goggles when handling this material. Process the resin at room temperature (18 - 25 ° C) and humidity less than 70%. To avoid deformation of the surface, the temperature must remain constant throughout the curing process. Also avoid direct sunlight through a window and avoid drafts.
Mix the A and B components in the correct ratio (A : B = 100 : 50 by weight) and mix well. Allow enough time for mixing (2 - 3 minutes) and make sure to include the corners and bottom of the mixing bowl. Optionally, you can pour the whole thing into a second bowl and mix again.
Now add all the colour effects and stir again. Allow air bubbles to escape for a minute. If necessary, help by vibrating/rattling the cup. Make sure the product does not get too hot!
The epoxy resin is now ready for use. Apply the mixture with a brush/roller or pour the mixture with a thin stream into the desired mold or prepared model.
Make sure to use a large-bottomed mixing bowl for larger quantities. Avoid a thick layer in the mixing bowl as this will heat up very quickly!
Removing air bubbles is best done with an epoxy deaerator or with a flame. Please do not use flames if you have diluted the epoxy with alcohol or other flammable products.
If you want to apply the resin in several layers (multi-layer work)
Wet on wet:
When pouring a second layer of liquid into a first layer of epoxy liquid, you need to make sure the exothermic reaction has completely worn off. An exothermic reaction is a reaction that releases energy. In this case, heat. If you want to be sure, wait until the second layer is no longer sticky, but you still see a fingerprint in the epoxy.

If you notice that the resin component is white and flaky, it is crystallized resin.

Epoxy resin crystallization is a physical process caused by external factors such as cold or temperature fluctuations. It is completely reversible and similar to the freezing of water. The main causes are:

1. Temperatures too low : During storage or transport, crystals may form at temperatures below 15 °C.

2. Temperature fluctuations : The formation of crystals is promoted by regular changes between warm and cold.
High resin purity: Epoxy resin with high purity is more prone to crystallization.
3. Low viscosity : Resins with a low viscosity tend to form crystals.

This reaction occurs at extremely low temperatures and can be reversed by a water bath (about 60 minutes/50 °C).
Simply place the sealed resin container in the water bath. Then let the resin cool back to normal room temperature.
