Crystal Clear Deep Casting epoxy resin

 

The Crystal Clear Deep Casting is a highly transparent epoxy resin for a wide range of applications with excellent UV resistance and self-ventilation for a bubble-free finish.

The epoxy resin is ideal for artistic and decorative applications, potting of large molded and cast parts as well as larger jewelry items or river tables up to 5 cm.

The epoxy resin is low-viscosity, has maximum UV protection and excellent self-ventilation for a bubble-free finish.

The deep casting epoxy resin can be colored with different epoxy color pigments to achieve a spectacular result.

 

This resin is not suitable for small / thin castings smaller than 1 cm as it takes too long to harden.

 

For thinner castings use:

Crystal Clear Casting Resin - 0.1 to 2 cm casting height

 

For larger cast parts use:

 

Crystal Clear Deep Pour Resin - up to 10 cm casting height

 

For an epoxy resin with higher viscosity use:

  • Production of river tables, large molded and cast parts as well as larger jewelry items with a potting height of 10 mm to 50 mm. (higher casting quantity possible depending on the room temperature and the quantity of material <22 ° C).
  • Manufacture of molds where excellent transparency is expected / necessary.

  • The maximum grouting height of 5 cm is heavily dependent on the ambient temperature. If the temperature exceeds 22 ° C, the maximum grouting height is reduced

 

Important note: The higher the room temperature (> 20 ° C) and the larger the mixed amount, the lower the possible casting height with constant transparency. 

 

* With a larger amount, the processing time and the hardening time are shorter!

 

Processing:

Make sure the surface is dense and non-porous. This can cause air bubbles in the epoxy. Use a thin layer of epoxy or primer to do this.

Always use protective gloves and goggles when handling this material. Process the resin at room temperature (18-25 ° C) and a humidity of less than 70%. In order to avoid any deformation of the surface, the temperature must remain constant during the entire curing process. Also, avoid direct sunlight through a window and avoid drafts.

Mix the A and B components in the correct ratio (A: B = 100: 50 by weight) and mix well. Allow enough time to mix (2-3 minutes), making sure to include the corners and bottom of the mixing bowl. Optionally, you can pour the whole thing into a second bowl and mix again. Now add all the color effects and stir again. Let the air bubbles escape for a minute. If necessary, help by vibrating / rattling the mug. Make sure the product doesn't get too hot!

The epoxy is now ready to use. Pour the mixture into your mold or prepared model with a thin stream.

Note that you use a large-bottomed mixing bowl for larger quantities. Avoid a thick layer in the mixing bowl as it heats up very quickly!

Removing air bubbles works best with an epoxy vent or a flame. Please do not use flames if you have diluted the epoxy resin with alcohol or other flammable products.

 

If you want to apply the resin in several layers (multi-layer work):

Wet on wet:

Whenever you pour a second layer of a liquid into a first layer of an epoxy liquid, you need to make sure that the exothermic reaction has worn off completely. An exothermic reaction is a reaction that releases energy. In this case, heat.
If you want to be sure of this, wait until the second layer is no longer tacky, but you will still see a fingerprint in the epoxy.

Wet on dry:

The previous layer must be sanded and made free of dust and grease.
